About The Role
The Network Engineer at UMC is responsible for designing, developing, installing, testing, and maintaining all hospital networks. This includes managing routers, switches, access devices, email systems, and Active Directory to ensure seamless connectivity across computers, peripherals, communication equipment, and video systems via cabling or wireless transmission.
Key Responsibilities
- Designing, developing, installing, testing, and maintaining hospital networks using various cabling methods or wireless transmissions.
- Troubleshooting and resolving complex system problems related to network protocols and multi-user environments.
- Oversight of software-hardware interdependence in a multi-functioning environment.
- Installation and maintenance practices for both network hardware and software.
- Demonstrating concepts and capabilities of computer operations platforms.
Troubleshooting & Development
- Resolving complex system problems efficiently.
- Organizing and scheduling installations and necessary downtime.
- Conceptualizing, designing, and implementing new application software programs.
- Training staff on the use of application programs and conveying technical information to non-technical audiences.
Documentation & Communication
- Writing comprehensive procedure manuals and user guides.
- Analyzing data for collection, manipulation, retrieval, and evaluation.
- Maintaining effective working relationships with diverse personnel from various socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds.
