Network Engineer

Dexcom's dynamic IT department seeks a senior-level Network Engineer Level 3 to provide critical technical support and expertise in maintaining, troubleshooting, and enhancing desktop and end-user computing environments. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about network design, planning, and solving complex issues within a collaborative and innovative team in Bengaluru, India.

Responsibilities include designing and planning network architecture based on organizational needs, configuring network components such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless access points, and determining network capacity and scalability. You will install and configure networking hardware and software, set up and maintain IP addressing, subnets, VLANs, and routing protocols, and deploy essential security measures like firewalls and intrusion detection systems. The role involves monitoring network performance, identifying bottlenecks, performing regular maintenance, and troubleshooting outages, connectivity problems, and security breaches. Ensuring network security against unauthorized access and cyber threats, staying updated with best practices, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations are key. You will analyze network traffic, optimize performance with Quality of Service (QoS), and recommend network upgrades. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, system administrators, and developers is expected, along with maintaining accurate network documentation, creating standards, and fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will analyze data for process improvements, implement system changes, achieve service level goals, and adhere to change control processes. Providing ongoing support, taking escalation calls, communicating policies, and meeting department metrics are also part of the role.

Successful candidates will have several years of experience in Network Engineering, strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, and exceptional subject matter expertise in networking technologies. A deep understanding of TCP/IP, Cisco and/or Extreme Routing/Switching/WiFi is crucial. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is required. Professional certifications like Cisco CCNA/CCNP are highly desirable. Proficiency in network hardware and software configuration, experience with network monitoring tools, and knowledge of network security principles are essential. Experience in an ITIL compliant environment and with ServiceNow is vital. The ability to handle challenging situations with a positive attitude, initiative, and strong project management skills is expected. Fluency in English, both written and oral, is mandatory.
