Network Engineer

Network Engineer - Virtusa - Hyderabad

Virtusa is seeking a skilled Network Engineer for our team in Hyderabad. This role requires a strong understanding of networking principles and hands-on experience with complex multi-site LAN and WAN solutions, primarily using Cisco products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support and maintain large, complex multi-site LAN and WAN network solutions.
• Design and implement network infrastructure based on best practice principles.
• Configure and manage routing and switching concepts, advanced IP addressing, and dynamic routing protocols.
• Implement and support secure and resilient routing solutions, Unified Communications, Load Balancing, and Quality of Service (QoS).
• Deploy and manage wireless and mobile communication solutions.
• Implement and support remote access and legacy dial-up technologies.
• Ensure end-to-end network security, including access control, next-generation firewalls, web application firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, encryption (IPSEC, SSL, PKI), and SIEM systems.
• Experience with FCOE solutions and Storage Area Network (SAN) implementation.
• Understand Datacenter Management principles.
• Work with Cisco Branch and Edge Routers, Cisco Datacenter, SAN fabric, and Campus LAN Switches (including Nexus 5-7K).
• Manage Cisco Adaptive Security and IDP appliances.
• Configure F5 Local and Global load-balancers.
• Work with Juniper (JUNOS) Firewalls and Web Application or Next-Generation Firewalls (Barracuda, Palo Alto, or similar).
• Utilize technologies such as Ethernet, MPLS, DSL, Leased lines, ISDN, DHCP, Dynamic DNS/BIND, SNMPv3, ACS, Radius/TACACS+.

Required Qualifications:

• Degree or equivalent experience in a technical or technical management discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Networking.
• Proven commercial experience supporting large, complex multi-site LAN and WAN network solutions, predominantly on Cisco products.
• In-depth understanding of network infrastructure design, routing, switching, IP addressing, dynamic routing protocols, MPLS, secure routing, unified communications, load balancing, QoS, wireless, and mobile communications.
• Experience implementing and supporting remote access and legacy dial-up technologies.
• In-depth understanding of secure network concepts, technologies, and protocols including access control, firewalls, intrusion prevention, encryption, SIEM, and proxy services.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem diagnosis skills.
• Experience with FCOE and SAN implementation, and an understanding of Datacenter Management principles.
• Familiarity with specified Cisco, F5, Juniper, and other firewall technologies.
• Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively in a cross-functional team.
