Network Engineer

Quadeye is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to optimize and maintain our high-performance, low-latency trading network. This role spans our data centers and office environments, focusing on network configuration, issue troubleshooting, and implementing automation for peak performance and reliability.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong expertise in routing, switching, security protocols, and Linux networking. Essential to this role is close collaboration with systems and trading teams to deliver dependable, low-latency network solutions in a demanding, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Maximize network performance through continuous monitoring, proactive troubleshooting of network issues and outages, timely upgrades, and network optimization.
• Configure and install a variety of network devices and services, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, and QoS.
• Provide hands-on network support for critical production issues within our Colo/trading, office, and data center environments.
• Drive network automation initiatives, including the deployment and updating of configurations across multiple infrastructure devices.
• Support and administer firewall environments effectively.
• Upgrade data network equipment to the latest stable firmware releases.
• Offer direct technical support for Linux and related technologies within a production/live trading environment.
• Provide direct technical support for networking challenges and related areas on Linux servers in the production/live trading environment.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Multicast routing, PIM, and IGMP protocols.
• Assist with networking monitoring and troubleshooting of Linux-based servers, including supporting hardware changes, software installations, and upgrades.

Qualifications

• A degree in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline is preferred, complemented by 2 to 5 years of relevant experience.
• CCNP certification is required.
• Exposure to AWS will be considered an advantage.
• Proven ability to set up and configure server hardware.
• Expertise in VPN technologies (IPsec VPN, SSL VPN, Site-to-Site VPN) and firewalls (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto).
• Solid experience in Routing and Switching concepts, including VLANs, Inter-VLAN routing, VTP, STP, Etherchannel, Layer 3 routing, BGP, and dynamic routing protocols.
• Strong experience in Firewall and Network Security.
• Proficiency in Linux and Shell/Python scripting.
• Hands-on experience with monitoring tools, preferably within the financial industry.
• Ability to perform effectively under pressure and manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously.
• A strong aptitude for quickly learning new technologies.
• Excellent communication skills.
