Network Engineer

Network Engineer - L1 Support in Chennai

Spectrum Talent Management is seeking a skilled and proactive Network Engineer with L1 Support responsibilities and a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience. This role is crucial for our networking and implementation projects in Chennai.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation, configuration, and commissioning of network devices and wireless infrastructure.
• Support for network project implementation across district locations.
• Maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of network equipment at Point of Presence (POP) sites.
• Ensuring the uptime and performance of routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless devices.
• Monitoring network performance and resolving connectivity issues.
• Performing preventive maintenance and health checks of network devices.
• Coordinating with L2/L3 teams and vendors for issue escalation and resolution.
• Maintaining proper documentation of configurations, incidents, and network diagrams.
• Ensuring adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and organizational standards.
• Providing on-site and remote support as required.

Technical Skills Required

• Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VLAN, Routing, and Switching.
• Hands-on experience with routers, switches, and wireless access points.
• Experience in POP network maintenance and monitoring.
• Knowledge of wireless network deployment at district and field levels.
• Basic firewall and security configuration knowledge.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools.
• Understanding of implementation and rollout projects.

Preferred Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or a related field.
• Certifications such as CCNA are preferred.
• Experience working in ISP, Telecom, or Government network projects is an advantage.
