Network and Firewall Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Network and Firewall Engineer with 3-5 years of experience for our Bengaluru location. This role involves the installation and configuration of network hardware such as routers, switches, and wireless access points, as well as network software. You will be responsible for ongoing maintenance, applying firmware patches, and upgrading hardware and software to ensure optimal performance and security. Key duties include monitoring network performance, diagnosing and resolving connectivity issues, and responding to alerts or outages. A strong focus on security is essential, encompassing the implementation and enforcement of network security protocols, managing user access, and protecting the network from unauthorized access and cyber threats. You will also be tasked with maintaining detailed documentation of network diagrams, IP address usage, configurations, and change logs. Providing technical support to users for network-related problems and acting as an escalation point for helpdesk tickets is also part of this role. Additionally, you will implement backup solutions and develop/test disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime. Firewall responsibilities include installing, configuring, and managing firewall systems to control incoming and outgoing network traffic, enforcing traffic patterns and policies to prevent unauthorized access and malicious activity, monitoring firewall logs for suspicious activity, and responding to security alerts. You will conduct periodic vulnerability assessments and audits to ensure firewall effectiveness and identify/mitigate risks, as well as configure and maintain intrusion detection and prevention systems as part of a comprehensive security strategy.
