About the Role
Global Payments is seeking a Network Analyst to install, configure, maintain, support, and secure the organization's network communications, including LANs and WANs. This role involves identifying network problems, isolating root causes, and implementing corrective actions. You will determine the priority of actions and necessary resources based on service interruption severity, providing technical analysis to customers to restore or activate services. Collaboration with Telecommunication Engineers, LAN Administrators, and transmission/RF staff is essential, ensuring compliance with security, safety, and environmental guidelines. Responsibilities include generating reports on network performance, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance. This position operates within a global 24x7 high-availability, transaction-oriented network and requires translating business requirements into network specifications for collaborative solution delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with intermediate-level network problem-solving within the Global Payments Network.
- Administer established network project and issue resolution tasks.
- Participate in the execution of intermediate design plans/scripts with meticulous attention to detail.
- Provide timely updates to project managers and customers on the status of implementations and requests.
- Generate intermediate-level reports on network performance, troubleshooting results, and routine maintenance of network elements.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Typically a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- 2-4 years of enterprise networking experience and/or a Bachelor's Degree.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant advanced industry network certifications are highly desirable.
Skills and Capabilities
- Proficiency in configuring industry-standard dynamic routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF.
- Experience with WAN optimization and Quality of Service (QoS) on global MPLS networks for voice and data traffic.
- Skilled in global DNS load balancing and local application load balancing.
- Ability to work on assignments of routine to moderate difficulty, requiring some decision-making in issue resolution and recommendations.
- Ability to work with general instructions on new assignments and little instruction on daily work.
