Join the India Seller Risk ML team at PayPal as a Machine Learning Engineer and make a significant impact. You will collaborate closely with Risk Strategy teams to develop advanced ML models that ensure a smooth experience for legitimate sellers while mitigating losses from fraudulent activities.

In your daily work, you will partner with business stakeholders to understand their needs, define problems, devise solutions, and communicate them effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. You will lead complex, cross-functional data science projects, designing, developing, and implementing real-time, sophisticated machine learning models. You'll work with vast datasets, using tools like Python, R, H2O, Hadoop, and SQL for data extraction and manipulation. Collaboration with engineers will be key to deploying models on our industry-leading data platform. Your responsibilities will also include analyzing data to identify trends, conducting root cause analysis, testing hypotheses, and clearly communicating complex findings and model results.

We are seeking individuals with a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Computer Science or Data Science, complemented by over 4 years of hands-on experience in building large-scale ML models. Strong problem-solving and communication skills are essential, along with a proven history of successfully building and implementing machine learning solutions. Experience leading intricate, cross-functional data science projects is highly valued. Familiarity with various machine learning algorithms and statistical methods is required, as is robust coding proficiency in Python or other common ML languages. A passion for big data, coupled with professional experience in data mining, statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and data manipulation, is crucial. Fluency with SQL or SQL-like tools for handling large datasets is a must. Experience in financial services or e-commerce is a significant advantage.
