This role is crucial for supporting imaging studies within a dynamic research environment. The technologist will perform MR procedures, ensure stringent safety protocols, and maintain exceptional image quality. Collaboration with principal investigators and other research staff is a key aspect of this position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing MR Exams: Executing MR exams according to protocol guidelines, adapting to workload fluctuations, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of all scan equipment (coils, upgrades, etc.), performing non-technical duties, conducting image post-processing, networking, and archiving, performing patient assessments, administering MR contrast via venipuncture as ordered, maintaining working knowledge of scanning equipment, performing minor equipment calibrations, and reporting needs for major services or repairs. Operating and maintaining monitoring equipment is also a key function.
  • Patient Interaction and Recordkeeping: Welcoming patients, verifying identification and orders, explaining procedures, addressing patient concerns, positioning patients, selecting appropriate factors, adhering to established protocols for high-quality MR scans, and completing requisition and charge vouchers.
  • Communication: Fostering a caring and supportive atmosphere for patients, visitors, medical staff, and coworkers, managing difficult customer situations effectively, and communicating clearly and concisely with the entire healthcare team both verbally and in writing, demonstrating excellent listening skills.
