Overview:

ZOOP is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Machine Learning (ML) Lead with an entrepreneurial spirit to join our team in Pune. This is a unique opportunity to operate as both an individual contributor and a team leader, spearheading ML initiatives, driving innovation, and establishing a new ML team. You will foster a culture of mentorship and collaboration while exploring and developing cutting-edge regulatory technology (RegTech) solutions. This role demands ownership from conception to deployment, delivering impactful ML-driven systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Machine Learning Development: Design, develop, and deploy advanced ML models for diverse applications including RegTech, predictive analytics, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Computer Vision. Drive innovation through experimentation with state-of-the-art algorithms and frameworks, optimizing models for scalability, performance, and real-time deployment.
• ML Operations (MLOps): Build and manage end-to-end ML pipelines, covering data collection, preprocessing, model training, deployment, and monitoring. Implement MLOps best practices, including CI/CD, model versioning, and production monitoring, ensuring robust and scalable deployed models.
• Team Leadership and Mentorship: Lead and grow a high-performing ML team from inception, setting team goals and cultivating a collaborative, innovative environment. Mentor team members on technical challenges, career development, and industry best practices, inspiring ownership and excellence.
• Initiative and Innovation: Proactively own projects, identifying opportunities to create business value through ML. Develop novel ML approaches specifically for RegTech challenges and compliance requirements. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to drive forward-thinking solutions.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to align ML initiatives with business and compliance objectives. Translate complex regulatory requirements into scalable, accurate, and compliant technical solutions.
• Research and Documentation: Conduct research to advance ML applications in RegTech and other key domains. Document models, pipelines, and processes for clarity, reproducibility, and knowledge sharing. Present findings and progress effectively to stakeholders and leadership.

Challenges We Are Tackling:

• Identity Fraud Detection: Employ ML to detect and prevent fraudulent activities in AML, identity document tampering, and face biometrics.
• Intelligent Document Processing: Develop highly accurate and scalable systems to extract, classify, parse, and analyze information from complex documents, automating processes in Fintech and other industries.
• Motor Insurance & Finance: Create ML-driven solutions for policy generation, fraud prevention, and automating vehicle claims processing to minimize delays and improve accuracy.
• Contract Lifecycle Management: Utilize NLP to streamline legal contract management, including automated clause extraction, compliance checks, and contract analytics.
• User Knowledge Graph: Leverage Graph Databases and anomaly detection to provide actionable insights into user behavior, generate trust scores, and enhance decision-making for personalized and secure services.

Key Qualifications:

• Education & Experience: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field (PhD preferred). 7+ years of experience in ML/AI with a proven track record of successful model deployments.
• Domain Experience: Preferred experience in RegTech/Fintech or a strong interest in applying ML within Fintech solutions.
• Leadership Experience: 2+ years of team management or mentorship experience, with a demonstrated ability to grow teams.
• Technical Skills: Expertise in ML frameworks and tools. Strong understanding of MLOps platforms (e.g., MLflow, Kubeflow) and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure). Proficiency in Python and experience with big data tools (e.g., Spark, Hadoop). Familiarity with regulatory and compliance systems is a plus. Experience with unstructured document information is desirable.
