About the Role
Join Aule Space as a Mission Design Engineer focused on our Rendezvous, Proximity Operations, and Docking mission. You will define critical mission parameters and requirements for complex space operations.
Your Responsibilities:
- Design and optimize CONOPs covering all phases: launch, commissioning, RPOD, and end-of-life planning.
- Conduct analyses and trades to validate requirements across multiple architectures and satellite configurations.
- Perform modeling, simulation, and optimization of orbit design, RPO maneuvers, and docking window calculations using tools like STK.
- Drive early design decisions through critical trade studies balancing performance, cost, schedule, and risk.
- Collaborate with Systems, GNC (Guidance, Navigation, and Control), and subsystem teams to translate mission requirements into technical specs.
We Look For:
Minimum Requirements:
- Strong grasp of orbital mechanics, astrodynamics, and the space environment.
- 2+ years of experience in mission design and analysis.
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or C++.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience simulating RPO, formation flying, or docking missions.
- Understanding of spacecraft GNC design.
- Familiarity with GMAT, Freeflyer, or Orekit.
