Position Overview

Systems Plus Solutions is seeking a Content Developer (CMS) to build and maintain scalable, high-quality content experiences across eCommerce platforms. Working within the content pod and under the technical direction of the Content Architect, this developer will focus on implementing content components, integrating with our headless CMS platform (Contentful), and delivering scalable React-based solutions. This role partners closely with designers, merchandising teams, and business stakeholders to translate content needs into reliable, performant code. This is an excellent opportunity for a developer looking to deepen their expertise in headless CMS architecture, front-end engineering, and eCommerce content delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Development: Build and maintain JavaScript and React-based content components, adhering to content architecture patterns. Implement and manage content models and entries within Contentful. Develop internal customizations and extensions to the CMS. Integrate third-party APIs and headless CMS data into eCommerce front-end experiences. Write clean, well-documented code. Contribute to the design and coding of eCommerce components that are scalable, ADA compliant, and maintain site performance.
• Collaboration & Technical Partnership: Partner with the Content Architect to translate architectural direction into implemented solutions. Collaborate with designers, merchandising, and business stakeholders. Participate in code reviews. Support authoring teams by building guardrails, content entry tools, and workflow enhancements.
• Operational Support: Contribute to bug triage and resolution. Assist in Tier 2/3 support efforts. Comply with established policies and standards for change management, incident management, and security. Function as back-up or hands-on during high-volume retail periods and be available for periodic night, weekend, or holiday work as needed for support issues, business needs, production deployments, and scheduled on-call support.

Experience

• 2-4 years of professional front-end or full-stack development experience.
• Hands-on proficiency with React, capable of building, testing, and debugging components confidently.
• Demonstrated experience working within or integrating a CMS (headless or traditional) in a production environment.
• Ability to consume REST APIs and work with JSON data.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with non-technical teams.
• Comfort working in an Agile pod structure.

Preferred Skills

• Prior experience with Contentful, Contentstack, or a comparable headless CMS platform.
• Familiarity with content modeling concepts.
• Experience building or extending CMS authoring tooling.
• Knowledge of GraphQL or Contentful's Delivery / Management APIs.
• Exposure to ADA / WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines in an eCommerce environment.
