About the Role
Carelon Global Solutions India is seeking an Analyst IT Security II to engineer high-quality security and operational data products within Microsoft Fabric. This role involves building scalable pipelines and curated datasets in Fabric to support analytics, SLA tracking, risk insights, and audit-ready reporting across vulnerability management.
Success requires a blend of production support, platform governance, and data engineering delivery, with effective stakeholder communication across Security, IT, and Analytics teams.
Key Responsibilities
Data Engineering Modeling
- Design and develop curated security datasets in Microsoft Fabric utilizing Lakehouse/Warehouse patterns and OneLake.
- Build and maintain robust ingestion and transformation pipelines using Fabric Pipelines, Notebooks (Spark), and SQL.
- Implement a layered/medallion architecture (bronze/silver/gold) for scanner data, ServiceNow VR data, CMDB ownership, and reference data.
Reliability, Observability, Quality
- Implement data quality checks, reconciliation controls, logging, and alerting for common data pipeline issues.
- Optimize performance and cost through effective partitioning, file management, query tuning, and incremental processing patterns.
- Establish repeatable recovery patterns for failed loads and ensure pipelines meet reporting Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Analytics Enablement
- Produce analytics-ready tables for key performance indicators (KPIs) such as remediation aging, SLA/OLA compliance, vulnerability recurrence, exploitability/risk scoring, exception trends, and remediation team performance.
- Collaborate with BI teams on semantic model readiness, supporting Power BI consumption patterns where applicable.
- Enable secure data access and governance, including workspace permissions, data sensitivity controls, and lineage documentation.
CI/CD Environment Management
- Support source control and promotion across environments using Git integration, deployment pipelines, and release standards (Azure DevOps where applicable).
- Document data contracts, definitions, and lineage to ensure trust and consistency.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent years (2-4 Years) of experience as a Data Engineer.
Experience:
- 3+ years of data engineering experience with strong SQL, supplemented by Python and/or Spark for transformations.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse/Warehouse, OneLake concepts, Pipelines, Notebooks/SQL endpoints).
- Experience supporting integrations and data ingestion through REST APIs, import sets/transform maps, and MID Server/IntegrationHub concepts.
Skills and Competencies
- Experience with ServiceNow CMDB and/or SecOps Vulnerability Response.
- Certifications: ServiceNow CSA (and/or CIS-SecOps), Microsoft DP-600 (Fabric) and/or DP-203 are advantageous.
- Experience integrating scanners (Tenable/Qualys/Rapid7) and/or AppSec tools (Snyk/Veracode/Checkmarx, etc.).
- Familiarity with CMDB/ITOM concepts (CI lifecycle, ownership mapping, data quality practices).
- Experience with audit/compliance reporting expectations (NIST, MITRE, OWASP, FedRamp, etc.).
- Working knowledge of vulnerability management concepts (CVEs/CVSS, remediation SLAs, exceptions/risk acceptance).
- Strong Communication Skills.
