Position Summary

We are seeking a Software Engineer III for our AI & Engineering team at Deloitte. In this role, you will leverage cutting-edge engineering capabilities to build, deploy, and operate integrated sector solutions in software, data, AI, network, and hybrid cloud infrastructure.

About the Team: Engineering as a Service (EaaS)

Our EaaS team provides complete design, implementation, and technology operations. We transform engineering teams, modernize technology stacks, and deliver complex programs using product engineering approaches tailored to client needs via traditional teams, pools, or pods.

Your Responsibilities:

• Design & Development: Lead the architecture and development of enterprise-scale backend solutions, microservices, and APIs using Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, and integration technologies.
• Solution Design: Translate business requirements into scalable technical designs that adhere to architectural standards while resolving ambiguities in functional needs.
• Deployment & Automation: Manage cloud-native deployments (AWS/Azure/GCP), CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and automate operational tasks.
• Mentorship & Quality: Conduct code reviews, establish coding standards, troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, and mentor team members across the software development lifecycle.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with client stakeholders to manage deliverables in an Agile environment, ensuring high-quality outcomes for mission-critical operations.

Key Technical Requirements

You will need 6–10 years of experience in Java and Microservices. You must be proficient in Core Java (8+), Spring Framework/Boot, RESTful/SOAP APIs, SQL/RDBMS design, ORM frameworks (Hibernate/JPA), NoSQL databases, and asynchronous communication patterns like Kafka.

Cloud & DevOps Expertise

Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP is required. You should be comfortable designing event-driven microservices architectures using API Gateways, Service Discovery, Load Balancing, and Security best practices (Spring Security).

Azure AI & Modernization Context

While the core role focuses on Java Backend Engineering, our team works within an AI & Engineering function. Understanding concepts in Natural Language Processing (NLP), Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Computer Vision is highly valued to help transform technology platforms with AI-driven insights.
