Full Job Description
Insight Global is actively seeking a highly proficient Metrology Engineer to join a prominent medical device company in Jacksonville, FL. This role is instrumental in the successful commissioning of a Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM). You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to manage the entire project lifecycle, from installation and validation to essential training for a seamless production launch.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define project objectives, scope, and deliverables for CMM implementation.
- Develop comprehensive technical specifications and performance requirements.
- Manage vendor relationships for installation and commissioning.
- Oversee Installation Qualification (IQ) and Operational Qualification (OQ) processes.
- Ensure the CMM is properly commissioned and integrated into existing systems.
- Develop or supervise the development of CMM programs for accurate part inspection.
- Collaborate with Quality and Validation teams to execute validation protocols.
- Guarantee compliance with all internal and external standards.
- Organize and conduct training sessions for operators and engineers.
- Support the transition to production, ensuring a smooth handover and operational readiness.
- Foster strong cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Mold Tooling, Quality, Validation, and Safety departments.
- Effectively communicate project status, identify risks, and report on milestones to all stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Metrology within a regulated environment.
- Demonstrated experience with CMM equipment and programming (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso).
- Solid understanding of IQ/OQ/PQ and validation processes.
- Exceptional project management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and effectively manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with mold tooling and precision measurement techniques.
- Familiarity with regulatory and safety standards in manufacturing environments.
- PMP or a similar project management certification is a plus.
