MEP Engineer

Brick & Bolt is seeking a reliable MEP Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team in Bengaluru/Bangalore, India. This role is integral to analyzing budgets, preparing MEP quantity take-offs, estimating costs, and negotiating with contractors and vendors, ensuring close collaboration with project managers and site engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and interpret MEP drawings (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire-fighting, HVAC, ELV) to provide informed feedback.
• Prepare and review Bills of Quantities (BOQs), conduct quantity take-offs, and estimate costs for all MEP works.
• Perform general Quantity Surveying duties, including detailed rate analysis for various MEP activities, utilizing industry-standard coefficients.
• Reconcile major MEP materials such as cables, conduits, ducting, pipes, valves, fixtures, and equipment.
• Monitor and control costs associated with MEP services throughout project lifecycles.
• Scrutinize MEP material and service contracts to secure optimal pricing and terms.
• Develop comprehensive reports, cost analyses, budgets, and risk assessments specifically for the MEP scope of work.
• Provide expert advice to management and clients on value engineering, cost optimization strategies, and alternative solutions.
• Coordinate effectively with consultants, contractors, and vendors involved in MEP projects.
• Conduct site visits to verify executed quantities and ensure accurate reconciliation of MEP installations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 2-5 years of proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor specializing in MEP works.
• Solid understanding of MEP systems, construction standards, and current industry practices.
• Demonstrated experience in preparing BOQs, cost estimations, and tendering processes for MEP services.
• Possess strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities.
• Excellent negotiation and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to effectively organize, plan, and strategize project execution.
