About the Job: Jobgether is partnering with a leading company to offer a **Part-Time, Remote Mentor Role for Software Architects** based in India. This opportunity is ideal for experienced software architects passionate about teaching and mentoring emerging talent. You will guide learners through complex architecture concepts, host live weekly sessions, and foster a supportive learning community. This role combines deep technical expertise with strong communication and coaching skills, allowing you to share your industry insights while earning additional income alongside your primary career.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical guidance and support to learners via an online community forum, addressing course-related questions and technical blockers.
- Simplify complex software architecture and engineering concepts for practical, industry-relevant application through clear, accessible explanations.
- Host one live virtual session weekly to provide real-time technical support, engage with students, and encourage problem-solving.
- Establish trust and build positive relationships with learners by creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Share practical industry knowledge, helping learners apply architectural principles to real-world scenarios.
- Redirect learners to appropriate support channels and escalate issues to the Mentor Operations team as needed.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of professional experience in software engineering, architecture, or a related field.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Strong expertise in Test-Driven Development (TDD), including Pytest, scalable testing strategies, and structured test-suite design.
- Deep understanding of design patterns (creational, structural, behavioral) and their practical application in production systems.
- Experience designing microservices, multitier, cloud-native, and serverless architectures.
- Knowledge of caching strategies, CDN architecture, and data-storage trade-offs.
- Ability to create and interpret architecture diagrams and system-design documentation.
- Familiarity with distributed systems, machine-learning architectures, and systems engineering principles.
- Experience with architectural frameworks like TOGAF, Zachman, or SysML.
- Proven teaching experience, public speaking, or organizing technical talks/webinars.
- Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, reliability, and a student-focused mindset.
- Availability for part-time, flexible engagement as an external contractor.
