Mechanical Engineer

Applied Materials is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Bangalore, India. This role offers a supportive work culture that encourages learning, development, and career growth. You will be instrumental in resolving mechanical challenges, designing and implementing custom tooling and associated processes, and facilitating the handling, assembly, and disassembly of components throughout the product lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, and modifying mechanical engineering layouts, schematics, and specifications. You will also oversee manufacturing and installation processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Additionally, you will coordinate the procurement and assembly of mechanical components and equipment, identifying sources for critical parts and subsystems to resolve technical issues.

Role Responsibilities:

• Perform engineering analysis under general supervision.
• Design or modify basic mechanical engineering layouts, schematics, or drawings/specifications under general supervision.
• Coordinate the procurement and assembly of mechanical components and equipment for design projects; identify sources of critical parts and subsystems to resolve moderately complex technical issues.
• Perform and document engineering test reports; generate alpha/gamma documentation for product releases.
• Perform engineering analysis; troubleshoot a variety of mechanical problems of moderate difficulty under general supervision.
• Design, develop, and implement custom mechanical tooling, fixturing, and associated processes as needed.
• Enable the handling, assembly, and/or disassembly of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies throughout the product life cycle, as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree
• 2-4 years of related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Working experience with CAD software, thermodynamics, sheet metal design, material selection, manufacturing methods, GD&T, flow analysis, and/or Design for Excellence principles.
