Job Description: MATLAB Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated MATLAB / Simulink Engineer with C/C++ programming skills to contribute to modelling, simulation, data analysis, and algorithm development activities. This role involves close collaboration with system, hardware, and mechanical teams to design, test, and validate engineering solutions using MATLAB, its associated toolboxes, and C/C++.

Key Responsibilities

• Modelling & Simulation: Develop and simulate models, often for physical systems or control design, utilizing MATLAB and Simulink.
• Control Algorithm Development: Create control algorithms and functions to address engineering challenges and optimize system parameters.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with systems, hardware, mechanical, and test teams to gather requirements and deliver integrated solutions.
• Reusable Assets: Develop reusable libraries, model architectures, and establish coding standards.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in MATLAB programming.
• Experience with MATLAB's Control System Toolbox.
• Hands-on experience with Simulink.
• Understanding of linear algebra, numerical methods, engineering fundamentals (signals, control systems, system modelling), and Model-Based Design.
• Experience in data visualization, plotting, and result interpretation.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving abilities.
• Familiarity with version control tools such as Git or SVN.

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical, logical thinking, and problem-solving approach.
• Clear documentation and effective communication skills with all stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Project Management Skills

• Proficiency in project initiation, monitoring, tracking, and control of tasks.
• Experience in preparing detailed Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
• Ability to conduct reviews and escalate issues when necessary.
• Skill in identifying risks related to quality, cost, and schedule.

Qualifications and Experience

• B.E. / B.Tech degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechatronics, or a related field.

• Willingness to travel within and outside Bengaluru as needed for customer meetings, trainings, or other related activities.
