This role is instrumental in supporting the Marketing and Business Development Manager by executing strategic initiatives, fostering client relationships, and contributing to a wide array of marketing activities. The position offers a chance to engage with a sophisticated marketing function within a top-tier legal organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the Marketing and Business Development Manager to develop and implement comprehensive marketing and business development strategies and initiatives tailored for the Philadelphia office.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with attorneys, serving as the primary point of contact for their daily requests and marketing and business development needs.
  • Gain a deep understanding of local practices, office initiatives, and the representations of key clients within the Philadelphia market.
  • Prepare essential business development materials, including drafting pitches, partnering with attorneys on proposals and drafting, meticulously managing and submitting responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and producing other critical collateral. This encompasses conducting, requesting, and analyzing research, preparing pitches, proposals, presentations, and other client-facing documents, leveraging existing content, and creating new content as necessary, while ensuring timely delivery and production.
  • Draft, edit, and distribute various marketing materials, such as internal newsletters, press releases, seminar materials, invitations, client updates, and other client communications.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of client events, seminars, and webinars, including drafting invitations, managing registration lists and marketing materials, coordinating logistical arrangements, and providing on-site support.
  • Coordinate and execute attorney participation in marketing profile-raising events to enhance visibility.
  • Provide PR support, including drafting press releases, internal and external communications, social media posts, client updates, and other relevant communications.
  • Evaluate sponsorship opportunities based on ROI and strategic criteria, prepare business cases for review and approval, and manage the preparation of sponsorship deliverables, including logos, program ads, and guest lists.
  • Support attorney onboarding and integration processes.
  • Maintain detailed tracking sheets of marketing and business development activities and opportunities, manage follow-up outreach to internal and external stakeholders, and perform other assigned administrative duties.
  • Provide essential back-up services to the marketing department as needed.
  • Assist with and manage a variety of short- and long-term projects and respond promptly to ad-hoc attorney requests.
  • Maintain office- and practice-specific content and compile information for submissions to directory and ranking authorities such as Chambers USA, IFLR, American Bar Association, Law360, US News/Best Lawyers, etc.
  • Create and maintain accurate records of the firm’s specific practice experience within the firm’s experience database.
  • Ensure efficient information flow from attorneys to the marketing team regarding attorney biographies, practice area description updates, experience tracking, news and activities data, press releases, new team members, internal newsletter content, and other relevant updates.
  • Collaborate effectively with marketing professionals across the firm, including the communications, online, marketing research, RFP, events, and creative teams, on various initiatives.
  • Work with the marketing research team to gather and analyze research on targets, industries, and emerging trends to support business development efforts.
