Manufacturing Engineer

B-O-F Corporation, a premier inventor and designer of innovative shelving solutions for retail environments in Aurora, IL, seeks a dedicated Manufacturing Engineer (Entry Level). This role is crucial for supporting the development and improvement of our manufacturing processes, ensuring top-tier product quality and performance. You will act as a vital link between our Engineering, Operations, and Production teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate part numbers, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and routings within our ERP system.
• Ensure the integrity of ERP data to support production, scheduling, and material planning.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Purchasing, and Operations on managing engineering changes and updates.
• Conduct audits of manufacturing data to proactively identify and prevent production delays or cost inefficiencies.
• Develop and maintain installation guides and work instructions using SolidWorks Composer.
• Design, validate, and sustain robust manufacturing processes for both new and existing products.
• Provide essential daily technical support to Production and Manufacturing teams.
• Troubleshoot production, quality, and performance issues, and lead the implementation of corrective actions.
• Support new production launches, including process documentation, material readiness, and system setup.
• Effectively communicate shop floor issues and insights to scheduling and operations teams.
• Respond to shop floor inquiries, providing clear technical clarifications.
• Initiate and manage Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) to drive process improvements.
• Evaluate and implement process enhancements that align with stringent quality and engineering standards.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing principles and structured problem-solving tools (e.g., 5 Why, 8D, Six Sigma).
• Design and support the creation of jigs and fixtures in close collaboration with Welding and Production teams.
• Validate quality processes through meticulous data collection, testing, and comprehensive documentation.
• Establish product specifications, performance qualifications, and essential quality procedures.
