About the Team and Role

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Software Development at eBay Inc. in Bengaluru, Karnataka to lead diverse engineering teams across backend, frontend, mobile (iOS/Android), and full-stack disciplines.

What You'll Do

• Lead Engineering Execution: Mentor multidisciplinary engineers fostering innovation and technical excellence.
• Drive Architecture: Design scalable distributed systems serving millions of daily users globally.
• Own End-to-End Delivery: Oversee the full software lifecycle from concept to deployment.
• Technical Leadership: Provide expertise in Java, Python, Node.js, microservices, APIs, and cloud technologies (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Champion Quality: Embed best practices for code quality, observability, performance, and security.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product, design, payments, and platform teams.
• Innovation: Drive adoption of AI/ML, event-driven systems, and cloud-native tools.

What You'll Bring

• Technical Background: 12+ years building large-scale systems using Java, Python, Node.js, or Scala; proven experience with microservices and container orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Leadership Experience: Minimum 5 years managing multi-tier engineering teams.
• Domain Expertise: Preferred background in Payments, Financial Services, or transaction-heavy systems.
• Operational Mastery: Expertise in Agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.
