Full Job Description
We are seeking a **SOC Manager** to lead and elevate our **24x7 Security Operations Center (SOC)** at Freshworks. This pivotal role involves overseeing security monitoring, incident response, threat detection, and continuous improvement initiatives. The SOC Manager will lead a team of security analysts and engineers, collaborating closely with Product Security, Infrastructure, IT, and Engineering teams to strengthen cyber resilience. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading day-to-day SOC activities, ensuring timely detection, investigation, containment, and remediation of security incidents.
- Acting as the Incident Commander for Critical (P1) and High-severity cybersecurity incidents, coordinating cross-functional response efforts.
- Driving continuous improvement in detection use cases, SIEM (XSIAM), SOAR automation, and SOC processes for operational efficiency.
- Overseeing security monitoring across cloud, endpoint, identity, network, and application environments.
- Leading proactive Threat Hunting to identify emerging threats, attack techniques, and security gaps.
- Managing security incidents through the entire lifecycle, including post-incident reviews and lessons learned.
- Defining and tracking SOC KPIs (MTTD, MTTR, false positives, automation coverage, operational metrics).
- Collaborating with stakeholders to improve the overall security posture.
- Driving SOC roadmap initiatives, including AI-driven investigations, automation, threat intelligence integration, and detection engineering.
- Evaluating and onboarding new security technologies to enhance SOC capabilities.
- Ensuring operational readiness for major cyber incidents through playbooks, tabletop exercises, and simulations.
- Mentoring SOC analysts and engineers through coaching, technical guidance, and career development.
- Preparing executive dashboards, operational reports, and security metrics for leadership.
- Supporting audit, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- 8–12+ years in Cyber Security, with 3–5+ years managing SOC environments.
- Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms (e.g., Palo Alto Cortex XSIAM, Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel).
- Strong experience with SOAR platforms, security automation, Incident Response, Threat Hunting, and Threat Intelligence.
- Experience securing cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Certifications (e.g., CISSP, GIAC) and stakeholder management skills.
