CrowdStrike is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Vulnerability Detection team within the Exposure Management division in Pune, Maharashtra. This role is crucial for helping customers identify, fingerprint, and assess network devices using advanced detection techniques.
The Engineering Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, product management, and security researchers to enhance detection capabilities, build and manage a global team, and oversee direct reports. The position requires a strong technical background in vulnerability detection and network security, with experience in managing technical teams and scaling agile processes. Experience with Go, Python, and leveraging AI for vulnerability analysis is highly valued.
Key responsibilities include driving the development of vulnerability detection capabilities, researching emerging threats from major vendors, and translating this research into actionable detections. The manager will build and lead a distributed team, ensuring high-quality detection content and fostering a collaborative environment across time zones. Collaboration with product management and engineering teams is essential to align detection capabilities with customer needs and influence the evolution of CrowdStrike's Exposure Management platform.
The role also involves owning validation processes for vulnerability detections, implementing automated workflows, and maintaining high standards for security solutions. A significant aspect will be leveraging generative AI tools to accelerate vulnerability analysis, proof-of-concept development, and detection rule creation, while ensuring human oversight for accuracy. The manager will design and implement AI agent workflows for automated multi-step vulnerability validation, including discovery, analysis, prioritization, and remediation guidance, with human-in-the-loop verification for critical detections.
Candidates should have 8+ years in cybersecurity or vulnerability management and 5+ years in management. A BSCS or equivalent degree is required. The role involves on-site work in Pune or Bengaluru offices for at least 2 days per week. Bonus points include experience in network device fingerprinting, vulnerability management product development, security detection pipeline design, remote team leadership, CVE analysis, risk-based prioritization, organizational scaling, GenAI/Agentic AI automation for security, and thought leadership in Exposure Management or Vulnerability Risk Management.
