Perennial, a company committed to delivering integrated primary care and wellness services directly within retirement residences, is seeking a dynamic Manager, Business Operations & Finance. This pivotal role will involve overseeing the financial performance, strategic budgeting, and expansion initiatives for our allied-health network. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in driving profitability, ensuring compliance, and fostering growth within our unique healthcare model in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage P&L performance across homes, regions, and service lines, identifying opportunities for margin and utilization improvements.
  • Track and analyze membership revenue, clinic utilization, and allied-health economics (70/30 split).
  • Develop robust financial models, forecasts, and growth projections for new launches and expansions.
  • Produce comprehensive monthly operating reports and board-ready insights, including risk assessments and strategic recommendations.
  • Support pricing strategy, commercial initiatives, and the implementation of operational cost controls.
  • Identify service gaps and actively recruit new allied-health partners (e.g., physiotherapy, audiology, chiropody, massage therapy).
  • Negotiate agreements, renewals, and replacements for vendor and partner relationships, particularly for underperforming partners.
  • Monitor on-site program performance, client satisfaction, and the financial return on allied-health initiatives.
  • Assist in the expansion of new services and pilot programs within existing or future residential facilities.
  • Maintain the accuracy and completeness of partner documentation, including contracts, licenses, insurance, and certifications.
  • Ensure financial systems, payroll, and HR operations are scalable and compliant across different Canadian provinces.
  • Collaborate with Clinic Operations leadership to ensure correct billing workflows, data inputs, and adherence to operational standards.
  • Oversee the implementation and optimization of critical business systems, including payroll, reporting, and partner databases.
  • Lead cross-functional process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and scalability.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and build dashboards to facilitate real-time decision-making.

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of experience in financial operations, business operations, healthcare administration, or a hybrid commercial role.
  • CPA designation (required).
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting.
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, and business planning skills.
  • Proven experience in negotiating contracts and managing vendor/partner relationships.
  • Knowledge of healthcare operational economics (e.g., service mix, utilization, payer models) is a significant asset.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-growth, less structured environment and contribute to building operational frameworks.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets, CRM/HRIS systems, and financial analytics tools.
  • Familiarity with ASPE and IFRS accounting standards.
