About the Role

As a Managed Services Information Security Analyst (L1) at New Era Informatique, you will report to the Cyber Security Operations Manager. Your primary responsibility will be to monitor security events from various SOC entry points including SIEM, tickets, email, and phone. Based on the severity of these events, you will escalate them to the appropriate managed service support teams, Tier 2 information security specialists, or directly to customers for further investigation and resolution.

You will be a key member of a team dedicated to safeguarding corporate data and technology platform components from known threats. Effective communication with customers, teammates, and management is crucial for this role. Adherence to ITIL practices for incident, problem, and change management is expected. You will also be responsible for documenting and maintaining customer build documents, security procedures, and processes. Staying informed about emerging security threats and applicable regulatory security requirements is a vital part of this position. Other responsibilities and duties may be assigned by the security management team.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security events from SIEM, tickets, email, and phone.
• Escalate security events based on severity to relevant teams or customers.
• Collaborate with a team to protect corporate data and technology from threats.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Follow ITIL practices for incident, problem, and change management.
• Document and maintain customer build documents, security procedures, and processes.
• Stay updated on emerging security threats and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

Preferred Information Security Professional Designations:

• CISSP
• CISM
• CISA

Experience:

• 1-3 years of previous Security Operations Centre (SOC) experience, including conducting security investigations.
• Security monitoring experience with any SIEM tool and intrusion detection technologies.
• Experience with web content filtering technology, including policy engineering and troubleshooting.

Skills and Knowledge:

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Strong written communication and presentation skills.
• Self-starter, critical and strategic thinker, negotiator, and consensus builder.
• Good knowledge of IT, including multiple operating systems and system administration skills (Windows, Linux).
• Basic knowledge of client-server applications, multi-tier web applications, relational databases, firewalls, VPNs, and enterprise Anti-Virus products.
• Strong understanding of security incident management, malware management, and vulnerability management processes.
• Strong understanding of networking principles, including TCP/IP, WANs, LANs, and commonly used Internet protocols such as SMTP, HTTP, FTP, POP, LDAP.
• Excellent English written and verbal skills.

Education:

• A Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in a relevant area of study, with a preference for Information Security, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.

Other Requirements:

• Shift work is required.
• After-hours availability is required.
