Mainframe Operator

Role Overview

The Mainframe Operator is responsible for monitoring mainframe systems, infrastructure, handling Level 1 incident triage, escalation, and tracking. This role functions as a Level 1 Incident Manager for critical incidents related to various IT technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, escalate, triage, and track customer technology-related incidents quickly and efficiently.
• Maintain excellent communication skills to collaborate with internal IT staff, customers, and external vendors.
• Utilize graphical monitoring systems (What's Up Gold, Pingdom, PRTG) to track availability and status of infrastructure connectivity, assets, and services.
• Monitor mainframe control consoles periodically while checking system performance metrics.
• Potentially assist with the review and validation of mainframe job control language.

Requirements & Logistics

• Mandatory on-site presence; remote work options are not available.
• Ability to perform deliveries as assigned, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Flexibility to work holidays, various shifts (days/afternoons), and midnight rotations if required.
