Mainframe Network Engineer - Director - Cloud & Infra Eng
Morgan Stanley is seeking a skilled Mainframe Network Engineer for a Director role within their Cloud & Infrastructure Engineering team, based in Bengaluru, India. The role requires extensive experience in supporting and troubleshooting IBM's z/OS Communication Server and its associated components, including VTAM, TCPIP, TN3270, FTP, Policy Agent, and SMTP. Responsibilities also include maintaining, supporting, and troubleshooting third-party software from vendors such as Broadcom/CA NetMaster, LRS VPS, PKWARE PKZip, IBM Sterling Connect Direct, and Secure Proxy.
The engineer will develop and maintain monitoring and reporting tools essential for daily mainframe network operations, troubleshooting, and auditing. Key tasks involve configuring and supporting mainframe connectivity requirements for critical applications like MQ, DB2, and CICS. The role also entails supporting Disaster Recovery (DR) tests and Incident Detection and Correction (IDC) events.
A significant aspect of this position is collaborating with Enterprise Network Services (ENS) and Enterprise Security Platforms (ESP) on behalf of Mainframe Computing. This collaboration focuses on infrastructure design, connectivity upgrades, changes, and verifications that impact mainframe connectivity. The engineer will also directly interface with external vendors, banks, and exchanges to manage similar connectivity infrastructure initiatives.
Furthermore, the role involves supporting, maintaining, and troubleshooting issues related to the company's file transmission, printing, and email infrastructure. Familiarity with accessing and using the z/OS mainframe environment is a prerequisite. Proficiency in programming with TSO/REXX, TSO/CLIST, or SAS is required, with NetMaster NCL experience being a valuable asset.
Ideal candidates will have work experience or equivalent education in IBM z/OS utilities and software, including TSO, ISPF, JCL, VSAM, and catalog management, as well as z/OS, JES2, and Network operator commands.
