Mainframe Modernization Engineer - Gurugram, India
We are seeking a Mainframe Modernization Engineer with 1-2 years of total experience to join our team in Gurugram, India.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, unit test, and maintain mainframe applications utilizing COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, IMS DB/DC, Assembler, and CICS.
- Gain awareness of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines, with basic hands-on experience in Java/Python.
- Debug and resolve technical issues impacting mainframe applications.
- Create comprehensive documentation for code and governance artifacts.
- Identify and implement performance improvements and optimizations for mainframe systems.
- Automate repetitive tasks, including testing and code deployment.
- Utilize modern Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) such as Visual Studio Code (VS Code) and Cursor AI, integrating extensions like Explorer for Endevor, Amazon Q, DevX, and Zowe to boost developer productivity.
- Employ Git and Endevor for effective source code management.
- Leverage AI tools, specifically Cursor AI where feasible, for development, refactoring, optimization, analysis, security enhancements, and transformation tasks.
