Machine Learning Engineer

Overview

We are looking for an ML Engineer specializing in Reinforcement Learning (RL) Systems at Deccan AI. This role is critical to building infrastructure and tooling that enables large-scale RL workflows, allowing researchers to efficiently train, evaluate, and deploy models.

About the Role

You will operate at the intersection of distributed systems engineering and ML research, creating platforms that abstract complexity for self-serve experimentation. You will partner directly with frontier AI labs to design agents using policy-gradient and value-based methods (PPO, DQN, SAC), build reward models, develop multi-agent RL systems, and run large-scale training experiments.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and train RL agents for alignment tasks like RLHF.
• Tune reward models and simulation environments.
• Analyze agent behavior to identify failure modes in multi-agent systems.
• Collaborate with research teams to translate cutting-edge RL concepts into production-ready engineering solutions.
