Machine Learning Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a self-motivated, autonomous Senior Python & AWS Engineer to join our global engineering team. Located in India with remote work options, this role operates under high-trust principles with zero micromanagement.

Your Mission:

• Navigate technical challenges independently after onboarding.
• Own backend services, data workflows, and machine learning deployments.
• Foster proactive communication in an environment where the core team is based in the US (limited daylight overlap).

Key Responsibilities

• Autonomous Execution: Proactively pick up JIRA stories, complete initiatives without reminders, and drive tasks to completion.
• Architecture & Collaboration: Participate actively in solutioning, technical design conversations, and provide proactive team updates.
• Operations: Own production releases, ensuring backend API stability and scalable deployments on AWS.

Mandatory Technical Skills

• Core Language: Advanced Python (async programming, unit testing with pytest).
• Backend Systems: Building/scaling APIs using FastAPI.
• Cloud Architecture: Deep AWS experience; familiarity with Azure.
• MLOps: Hands-on development/deployment of AWS SageMaker Endpoints.
• Data & Storage: PostgreSQL/SQL, Pandas, and managing Parquet/JSON/CSV on S3.
• Version Control: Git.

Preferred Skills

• Leveraging LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic), AWS SageMaker Pipelines, and AWS EMR for PySpark ETL.
• Infrastructure: Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, IAM roles, Secrets Manager.
• Data Querying: AWS Athena, Redis, Solr.
• Monitoring: Splunk, Locust/JMeter.
