Machine Learning Engineer II

About the Role

Join Lytx's Applied Machine Learning Team in Bengaluru, India, as a Machine Learning Engineer II. You will be instrumental in developing and deploying advanced machine learning and computer vision algorithms to monitor driver behavior and their surroundings, thereby identifying risks and improving road safety. This role offers the opportunity to contribute across the entire ML model development and deployment lifecycle, focusing on enhancing accuracy, throughput, and reducing latency to solidify Lytx's leadership in the Video Safety and Telematics industry.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end development of deep learning and machine learning models, including prototyping, formulation, data engineering, and model training.
• Implement, debug, and iteratively improve deep learning and machine learning models.
• Develop and optimize the deployment of deep learning models for both cloud and edge environments.
• Optimize deep learning models through techniques such as quantization and pruning.
• Undertake other assigned duties to support team and company objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in problem prototyping, literature review, method selection, and model training using deep learning frameworks.
• Solid understanding of core machine learning concepts and practical experience with at least two deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong foundation in mathematics, probability, and algorithms.
• Proven experience with computer vision tasks such as object detection, image classification, and segmentation. Additional experience with non-vision ML problems is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, conducting structured experiments with clear objectives.
• Skilled in collaborating with software developers to ensure models meet system performance requirements, including latency, accuracy, security, scalability, and availability.
• Familiarity with AWS services (e.g., EC2, Sagemaker, DynamoDB, ECR, Lambda) is preferred. Experience with MLOps tools like SageMaker, Airflow, MLFlow, or H2O is a plus.
• Proficiency in SQL or similar database query languages.
• Experience working with large datasets and managing long-running or distributed training processes.
• Experience with low-level programming languages like C/C++ or a deep understanding of system architecture.
