Machine Learning Engineer

PayPal is seeking a skilled Machine Learning Engineer for their Chennai, India team. This role involves assisting in the development and optimization of machine learning models, including preprocessing and analyzing datasets to ensure data quality. You will collaborate with senior engineers and data scientists on model deployment, conduct experiments, and run machine learning tests. Staying updated with the latest advancements in machine learning is crucial. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Familiarity with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow or scikit-learn is required. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential. Experience with Generative AI or NLP projects is a plus. Proficiency in Python programming, including libraries like Hugging Face Transformers, Lang Chain, and OpenAI API, is expected. A deep understanding of LLM architectures, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and model evaluation is necessary. Proficiency in SQL and experience working with large-scale structured and unstructured datasets are also key. Experience with cloud platforms (GCP or AWS) and MLOps tools for deploying and monitoring GenAI models is required. Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, are a must.
