Your Impact
As a Software Engineer with a focus on Large Language Models (LLMs), you will play a crucial role in developing the infrastructure and products for the SignalLabs.ai platform. You'll work within our backend teams, contributing to various architectural pillars of our signal intelligence solution. These include Data Discovery for ingesting diverse data sources, the Semantic Module for unifying and enriching data, the Signal Detection and Correlation Engine for identifying and elevating critical signals, the System of Attention for routing and prioritizing consequential signals, and the Reinforcement Learning Feedback Loop for continuous system improvement. You will take ownership of significant components within these domains, contributing to the cohesive evolution of our platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement agentic systems leveraging LLMs, moving beyond traditional machine learning pipelines.
- Make critical trade-offs between latency, cost, accuracy, and controllability in system design, balancing deterministic pipelines with adaptive, LLM-driven approaches.
- Build cohesive, agentic workflows that integrate models, tools, and data to execute multi-step tasks, including designing system behaviors like planning, tool use, structured outputs, and robust failure handling.
- Develop infrastructure for evaluating and enhancing agentic system performance (quality, reliability, cost) and build monitoring systems for production observability.
- Integrate LLMs with internal and external tools to enable agentic systems to retrieve context, call APIs, and execute actions within end-to-end workflows.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate product requirements into scalable agentic systems.
- Continuously improve system performance through iteration and rigorous evaluation.
Minimum Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of cutting-edge agentic systems.
- Proven experience in designing and deploying agentic systems in production environments.
- Strong proficiency in LLM-assisted coding, utilizing AI tools for designing, implementing, and iterating on complex systems.
- Demonstrated ability to design end-to-end systems and make architectural decisions across multiple components (services, data pipelines, integrations).
Preferred Qualifications
- A strong track record of building and shipping agentic or LLM-based products, evidenced by a public portfolio (apps, open-source projects) or significant contributions (publications, impactful technical work).
- Extensive system design experience, including defining and evolving architectures for complex, multi-component systems.
- Experience in taking products from concept to launch, delivering user-facing applications at scale or in real-world settings.
What We Look For
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science or a related field.
- 5+ years of production-level experience in Python, Java, or a similar language.
- Experience in developing and deploying Large Language Models (LLMs) and Small Language Models (SLMs).
- Experience in developing large-scale distributed systems.
- Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or Kubernetes.
