Machine Learning Engineer

As a Machine Learning Engineer at PayPal, you will be instrumental in building and deploying AI/ML solutions that directly impact revenue and margin. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams for seamless deployment and continuous monitoring of these solutions. Working alongside Analytics and Product teams, you will optimize existing ML models and contribute to the development of new product offerings.

This role is within PayPal's Global Analytics and Data Science organization, focusing on areas such as payment processing, developer experience (including chatbots and assistants), and microbusinesses. Your work will directly influence key business metrics like authorization rates, latency, and transaction expenses, while also facilitating easier integration of PayPal's services for businesses of all sizes.

Your responsibilities will include partnering with Product Managers to understand new product initiatives and recommend optimal ML solutions. You will conduct rigorous exploratory data analysis, identify key metrics, and build business cases to drive strategic decisions. A significant part of your role will involve working with engineering teams for ML solution deployment, supporting multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, and providing guidance on data tracking for metrics and user behavior assessment. You will also collaborate with data platform teams to enhance data infrastructure and set up monitoring alerts.

Key qualifications for this role include strong SQL and visualization skills with meticulous attention to data detail, extensive experience in developing and deploying ML solutions, and the ability to perform in-depth analyses and present insights effectively to stakeholders. You should be adept at researching technical challenges and proposing innovative solutions. The role also requires the ability to interact with front-end systems and communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
