Low Latency Network & Systems Engineer - Director, Workplace Engineering

Morgan Stanley, a global leader in financial services, is seeking a skilled Low Latency Network & Systems Engineer for a Director-level position within our Workplace Engineering team in Mumbai, India. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless and high-performance operation of our trading and financial systems, directly impacting our ability to serve clients effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Leverage cutting-edge technologies and industry insights to meet customer requirements for low latency, high-performance computing, robust security, and efficient execution across complex routing environments.
• Install, configure, and perform daily maintenance of production devices utilized by multiple business units.
• Liaise with vendors for hardware failure resolution and RMA processing.
• Gather Key Performance Indicator (KPI) and metric requirements from Business Unit customers and deliver appropriate solutions using relevant tools.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 6 years of relevant professional experience is generally expected for this role.
• Possess excellent knowledge of data networking principles and advanced proficiency in operating various network management systems.
• Demonstrate extensive experience in low latency network and systems engineering, deployment, and operations, ideally gained in Market Data Provider, Prop Trading, and Exchange (connectivity) environments.
• Exhibit expert-level abilities in the configuration and management of Low Latency Network Routers and Switches.
• Strong capability to analyze packet captures to diagnose network and application issues.
• Desirable: Ability to script for NMS platform management, automated report generation, and metric creation.
• A proactive desire to learn and adapt to new technologies in a dynamic field is highly beneficial.
• Excellent prioritization and time management skills are essential.
• Effective communication skills are required to collaborate within a globally diverse team.
