Localization Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Develop VBA macros for Excel data clean-up, fuzzy lookup automation, and reporting.
• Write Python scripts for bulk file processing, TM extraction, and workflow integration.
• Create Java + JavaScript applications for CAT tool APIs, custom localization plugins, and publishing automation.
• Build VBScript/PowerShell solutions for MS Office automation across desktop/web versions.
• Integrate Office Scripts (TypeScript/JavaScript) with Power Automate for cloud-based Excel tasks.
• Automate publishing environments, including InDesign scripting, SCORM package generation, and CorelDraw automation.
• Automate MS applications such as Excel (Fuzzy Lookup, pivot automation), Word (track changes processing), and Outlook (client email workflows).

Required Technical Competencies

Skill Area

Industry & AI Knowledge

Awareness of 2026 localization trends, including AI-driven MT post-editing and neural TM models.

Experience with AI tools such as Power Automate AI Builder and Python ML libraries for terminology extraction.

Familiarity with LSP tech stacks including MemoQ, Trados, Xbench, and PhraseTMS scripting.

Publishing expertise, including Adobe InDesign automation and SCORM 1.2/2004 compliance.

Qualifications & Experience

Requires 3+ years of scripting experience for MS Office and publishing tools within the localization or project management domain.

A portfolio showcasing VBA/Python/JavaScript scripts for Excel and InDesign automation workflows is essential.

Relevant certifications such as PL-500 (Power Automate RPA) and Python for Data Analysis are advantageous.

This is a Bengaluru-based position; remote work is not available, and candidates must be able to work during IST hours.
