About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and experienced individual to contribute to our Global Hosting Team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of Linux operating systems and be adept at supporting complex cloud environments. This position requires a strategic thinker who can ensure scalable, secure, and efficient cloud solutions are implemented and maintained, aligning with Johnson Controls' business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Linux System Administration: Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux servers (Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS) in production environments.
• Cloud Support: Provide support for cloud-based Linux systems on platforms like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
• Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain scripts for task automation, deployment, and system management, potentially leveraging tools like Red Hat Satellite Servers.
• DevOps Integration: Assist in the implementation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes related to Linux infrastructure.
• Security and Compliance: Ensure Linux environments adhere to security best practices, including IAM and RBAC, and support regular security audits.
• Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions for optimization.
• Disaster Recovery: Contribute to the development and execution of disaster recovery and business continuity plans for Linux systems.
• Collaboration: Work closely with development, security, and other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of cloud and Linux solutions.
• Mentorship: Share knowledge and provide technical guidance to junior team members.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Technical Expertise: Extensive experience with Linux operating systems (Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS). Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
• Virtualization and Storage: Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and storage solutions (SAN, NAS, cloud storage).
• DevOps Tools: Strong knowledge of DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD, automation, and configuration management. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible is a plus.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) are highly regarded. Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) or virtualization are also beneficial.
• Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in Linux system administration, cloud engineering, or a related role.
• Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Education: A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
