Job Overview: Legal Data Analyst
Zelis is seeking a detail-oriented and self-directing Legal Data Analyst to join our team in Hyderabad, India. This critical role will support the Zelis Corporate and Legal Departments by ensuring the accurate and timely processing of contract-related data. You will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of contract records within the Zelis contract management system, verifying proper execution, and performing precise data entry. Furthermore, you will collaborate with the Legal Operations Team on ad hoc projects, including data cleanup, reporting and analytics, system enhancements, and process optimization efforts, all aimed at improving the accuracy, accessibility, and usability of contract information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the contract lifecycle, including reviewing, analyzing, tracking, and archiving agreements.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements through precise data entry and system updates.
- Maintain contract metadata and report on status, obligations, and renewal timelines.
- Collaborate effectively with legal, procurement, and finance teams, demonstrating a strong understanding of legal operations workflows.
- Summarize contracts and track specific provisions within the contract management system as per legal department policies.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Expert English drafting and communication skills, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Word.
- Ability to interpret contract language accurately for data entry into contract management systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to manipulate large datasets.
- High accuracy and attention to detail in data entry.
- Skilled in maintaining data integrity and conducting regular audits.
- Comfort working with confidential and sensitive information.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Exceptional analytical and communication skills for systems management.
- High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
- Experience following up with internal stakeholders to ensure adherence to timelines.
- Proficiency in using AI tools for efficient contract review, analysis, and organization of key terms, risks, and compliance.
Required Experience and Background:
- Education: 3- or 5-year Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree.
- 2-5 years of experience in data entry, systems administration, or legal operations.
- Hands-on experience with Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) tools commonly used by U.S. companies.
- Proven ability to manage large datasets with a focus on data accuracy and integrity.
- Experience supporting system upgrades, migrations, and enhancements for legal or operational platforms.
- Demonstrated success in creating and maintaining documentation for system processes and workflows.
- Familiarity with training team members on system usage, best practices, and process improvements.
- History of collaborating with operations and legal teams to optimize workflows and enhance efficiency.
- Track record of identifying inefficiencies and proposing data or system-driven solutions.
- A paralegal certificate or similar legal operations certification is preferred but not mandatory.
