Lead Test Engineer - VP, Digital Assets Platform

Join Barclays in Pune, Maharashtra, as a Lead Test Engineer - VP, where you will be instrumental in defining and leading the quality assurance and testing strategy for our innovative digital asset platform. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the reliability, security, resilience, and regulatory compliance of all platform capabilities, including APIs, orchestration services, tokenization, custody, and both internal and external system integrations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement comprehensive test plans and strategies to validate software functionality and ensure compliance with established quality standards.
• Create and execute automated test scripts using testing frameworks and tools for early defect detection.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, participate in design discussions, and contribute to acceptance criteria definition.
• Perform root cause analysis for identified defects and support developers in defect resolution.
• Participate in code reviews and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed about industry technology trends and innovations, contributing to technical excellence and growth within the organization.
• Contribute to or set strategy, drive requirements, and make recommendations for change, while managing resources, budgets, and policies.
• Advise key stakeholders, including functional leadership and senior management, on functional and cross-functional areas of impact.
• Manage and mitigate risks through assessment in support of the control and governance agenda.
• Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls.
• Understand organizational functions to contribute to business goals and collaborate with business-aligned support areas.
• Create solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought and in-depth analysis, developing innovative solutions.
• Adopt and include outcomes from extensive research in problem-solving processes.
• Build and maintain trusting relationships with stakeholders using influencing and negotiating skills.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Strong experience with test automation tools and frameworks, including BDD/Gherkin and Selenium.
• Ability to design and execute end-to-end test strategies for distributed systems, blockchain platforms, APIs, and wallets.
• Proficiency in performance, resilience, failover, and security testing, particularly for regulated payments and digital asset environments.

Highly Valued Skills:

• Understanding of payment systems within banking and knowledge of Digital Assets.
• Experience managing complex test environments across payment schemes, blockchain networks, and backend services.
• Proficiency in building API automation frameworks (REST, Kafka-based) using Python/Java with CI/CD integration.

This is a permanent role based in Pune, Maharashtra.
