Lead Software Engineer

Role Overview:

We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join our Digital AgTech team in Pune. In this role, you will lead technical architecture and delivery of scalable backend and frontend solutions for innovative agriculture products.
Key Technologies & Skills Required:

• Strong expertise in Java (Spring Boot) or Python (FastAPI/Django/Flask)
• Solid React skills with modern frontend knowledge
• Deep understanding of REST APIs, system design, and distributed/microservices architecture including event-driven systems
• Hands-on experience with databases (SQL/NoSQL), schema design, query optimization, and production support
• Proven track record using AWS cloud services, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CDK)

Key Accountabilities:

• Lead end-to-end design, development, and delivery of scalable full-stack applications
• Drive feature ownership from concept to production including deployment and support
• Collaborate with product, UX, and engineering teams to build high-quality solutions aligned with business goals
• Champion engineering best practices: clean code, code reviews, CI/CD, automated testing, observability
• Troubleshoot complex issues, optimize performance, ensuring reliability, security, and scalability
• Mentor engineers, contribute to Agile processes, and foster engineering excellence

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
• 8+ years of professional experience in full-stack software development (2+ years as Tech Lead/Senior IC)
• Proven experience designing scalable applications on AWS or similar platforms
• Strong foundation in microservices and event-driven architectures

Desired:

• Experience with modern DevOps practices (CI/CD, IaC)
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor teams
• Excellent problem-solving skills in Agile/SCRUM environments
• Exposure to AgTech, IoT, geospatial, or supply chain domains is a plus.
