Lead Software Engineer

Société Générale Global Solution Centre is seeking a Lead Software Engineer specializing in .Net to join our team in Bengaluru / Bangalore, India. This permanent role requires a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and a process-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

• Interpret functional requirements and proactively seek clarifications from Business Analysts and other stakeholders.
• Accurately estimate project timelines from high-level requirements and detailed functional specifications.
• Demonstrate the capability to provide robust technical designs and implement solutions for complex requirements.
• Embrace and actively participate in Agile methodologies including daily scrums, iteration planning, retrospectives, test-driven development, and model storming.
• Conduct meticulous reviews of designs, test cases, and code to ensure high quality.
• Engage in coding, unit testing, and integration testing activities.

Required Profile

• A strong foundational understanding of Core Programming and Object-Oriented Design principles.
• 2 to 5 years of professional experience in C#, WCF, and WPF.
• Solid grasp of .Net fundamentals, including advanced threading concepts.
• Experience working within the Windows operating system.
• Proficiency in SQL Server, Oracle, or Sybase, including SQL and T-SQL/PL SQL. Performance optimization is a significant advantage.
• Familiarity with .Net versions 3.5 and above.
• Previous experience with Thunderhead, WCF, multi-threading, and SilverLight is highly desirable.
• Proven experience in creating high-level and low-level designs utilizing UML and established Design Patterns.
• Knowledge of the Reactive Extensions framework is considered a plus.
• Experience in the Investment Banking sector is a strong asset.
• The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of software development with a focus on delivering high-quality software products.
• Demonstrated experience in creating, enhancing, and executing unit tests using a test-driven approach with frameworks like MbUnit or NUnit. Knowledge of open-source tools, automated testing, and Agile methodologies is expected.
