Lead Software Engineer

About the Role

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer in Hyderabad / Secunderabad, Telangana, India, to join our Chief Technology Office team. In this role, you will be a key technical contributor in an agile environment, responsible for enhancing, building, and delivering secure, stable, and scalable market-leading technology products. You will drive critical technology solutions across various business functions to meet firm objectives.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop and implement creative software solutions, including design, development, and technical troubleshooting, utilizing innovative approaches to problem-solving.
• Write secure, high-quality production code and conduct thorough code reviews and debugging for code written by peers.
• Identify and automate the remediation of recurring issues to enhance the overall operational stability of software applications and systems.
• Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs, technical capabilities, and compatibility with existing systems and information architecture.
• Champion communities of practice within Software Engineering to promote awareness and adoption of new and cutting-edge technologies.
• Contribute to a diverse, inclusive, respectful, and opportunity-rich team culture.

Required Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in Software Engineering concepts with a minimum of 2 years of practical application.
• Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and ensuring operational stability.
• Advanced proficiency in at least one programming language, with specific experience in Java, Oracle, and AWS.
• Strong understanding and application of automation and continuous delivery methods.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security best practices.
• Demonstrated expertise in software applications and technical processes within a specific discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile).
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and its IT systems.
• Practical experience with cloud-native technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with modern front-end development technologies.
• Relevant experience in designing, developing, and implementing software solutions with a continuous drive for expertise.
