Lead Software Engineer

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within Consumer & Community Banking, located in Hyderabad, Telangana, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you will conduct critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions to support the firm's objectives. Job Responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine approaches.
• Develops secure high-quality production code, reviews, and debugs code written by others.
• Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability.
• Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams regarding architectural designs.
• Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness of new technologies.
• Adds value to team culture through diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.
• Drives team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices (e.g., code review/refactoring, test strategy acceleration) while establishing consistent validation standards for secure coding and automated testing.
• Applies knowledge of SLC toolchain tools including Jenkins, Jules, Spinnaker, and automation capabilities to improve value realized by automation.

Required Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts with 5+ years applied experience.
• Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and setting team expectations for validating outputs.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations.
• Hands-on experience in Java full stack (Java/J2EE, Spring Boot), React, Private/Public cloud technologies (AWS).
• Experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Advanced proficiency in programming languages such as Java and Python.
• Proficiency in automation/CI-CD methods using Jenkins, Jules, Spinnaker.
• Demonstrated proficiency within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, AI, ML).
