As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create innovative software solutions involving design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine approaches.
• Develop high-quality production code that is secure, while reviewing and debugging others' work.
• Promote enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices within your team (e.g., for code review/refactoring) to improve quality and speed. Establish validation standards like secure coding and automated testing.
• Leverage SDC toolchain tools including automation capabilities to increase operational value.
• Find opportunities to eliminate or automate recurring issues, improving overall stability of systems.
• Evaluate external vendors and internal designs for applicability within existing architectures.
• Lead communities across Software Engineering to drive awareness of new technologies.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Formal training in software engineering concepts with 5+ years applied experience.
• Practical experience delivering system design, development, testing, and operational stability.
• Mastery of back-end tech like Java or Springboot; front-end skills preferred if applicable (e.g., JavaScript/React).
• Able to solve complex challenges independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience working on AWS/Azure/GCP platforms, distributed systems, RESTful APIs, WebSockets, and JSON.
• Design scalable apps using SQL or NoSQL databases.
• Led the use of AI-assisted tools for coding/reviewing while setting team expectations for validation of outputs (correctness/performance/security).
• Strong understanding of responsible AI in engineering workflows with data sensitivity considerations and secure handling practices.
• Mastery of SDLC including CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security within Agile methodologies.
