Lead Software Engineer

YOUR IMPACT
As a Lead Software Developer in the Digital Experience Web Experience Management team at OpenText, you will drive the design, development, troubleshooting, and enhancement of enterprise software products. You will leverage your expertise in Java/J2EE, enterprise application architecture, databases, and production diagnostics to deliver secure, scalable, and high-quality software.
You will take ownership of complex technical challenges, guide engineering best practices, and collaborate with Engineering, QA, Support, and Product Management teams. You will also leverage AI-assisted development tools and GenAI technologies to improve engineering productivity, automation, and software quality while mentoring engineers and contributing to technical decisions.

WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS

• Lead technical design and development of complex enterprise software features using Java/J2EE.
• Contribute across the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, estimation, design, coding, testing, and maintenance in Hyderabad location.
• Develop, troubleshoot, and optimize applications using Spring/Spring Boot and enterprise application technologies.
• Work with PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle databases, including SQL troubleshooting and performance analysis.
• Diagnose complex production issues using logs, thread dumps, network traces, profiling, and other diagnostic tools.
• Review application architecture and code, identify technical risks, and drive issues through resolution.
• Improve application security, performance, scalability, and maintainability for enterprise clients.
• Support production troubleshooting, customer escalations, and application vulnerability remediation.
• Work with REST APIs, XML, JSON, web/application servers, and application integration and deployment processes.
• Apply Git, code review practices, CI/CD, build systems, and modern software development methodologies in a DevOps environment.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools and GenAI technologies to improve coding, troubleshooting, automation, and developer workflows.
• Mentor engineers, provide technical guidance, and raise engineering standards through design and code reviews.
• Collaborate with Engineering, QA, Support, Product Management, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions for digital transformation projects.
