Lead Software Engineer - Hyderabad, Telangana
Wells Fargo is seeking a seasoned Lead Software Engineer to join their team in Hyderabad, Telangana. This senior role is pivotal in designing, building, and delivering robust enterprise-grade software solutions. You will own the end-to-end engineering delivery, collaborating closely with Product Managers, Business Stakeholders, and Technology Partners to ensure the development of scalable, secure, and reliable applications. A key aspect of this role involves the pragmatic application of Generative AI tools to enhance developer productivity, improve code quality, and streamline delivery efficiency, all while adhering to strict enterprise standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead significant technology initiatives with broad company-wide impact.
- Contribute to the development of engineering standards and company-wide best practices for complex, large-scale technology solutions.
- Design, code, test, debug, and document software for various projects and programs.
- Analyze complex technology solutions against tactical and strategic business objectives, considering the enterprise technological environment and technical challenges.
- Make informed decisions on engineering standards and best practices, influencing technology teams to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives.
- Collaborate with technical experts and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve organizational goals.
- Provide project and team leadership, and serve as a peer mentor.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Software Engineering, or equivalent demonstrated experience through work, training, military service, or education.
Desired Qualifications:
- Over 5 years of full-stack software development experience.
- Proficient hands-on coding skills in .NET Core / .NET.
- Experience with front-end frameworks such as React or Angular.
- Strong command of JavaScript / TypeScript and responsive UI development (HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap).
- Proven experience building REST APIs / microservices; familiarity with WCF.
- Exposure to event-driven architectures, with Kafka experience being a plus.
- Extensive experience with unit testing and automation frameworks (e.g., xUnit, Selenium, C#).
- Solid experience with relational databases like Oracle or SQL Server, including writing medium/complex SQL queries.
- Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps tools, and automated deployment strategies.
- Practical experience leveraging Generative AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Copilot for M365, enterprise-approved AI tools) for code assistance, refactoring, test case generation, documentation, and troubleshooting.
- Strong experience working within Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with business, product, and technology partners.
- Flexibility to align work schedules with US-based teams.

- Conduct thorough design and code reviews to uphold quality, performance, and security standards.
Collaboration & Mentorship
- Act as a key partner to Product Managers, Business Stakeholders, and Technology Partners.
- Clearly articulate technical trade-offs, dependencies, and delivery risks.
- Mentor junior engineers on modern engineering practices, including the effective application of GenAI tools.
- Foster an environment of continuous improvement and ongoing learning.
Operational Excellence
- Provide support for releases and troubleshoot production issues.
- Participate in root-cause analysis and implement preventive measures for recurring issues.
- Ensure compliance with all security, risk, data privacy, and responsible AI guidelines.
