Full Job Description

We are seeking a Lead, Gen AI to join our team in Bengaluru, Karnataka. As an AI Engineer, you will play a crucial role in productionizing and deploying agentic AI use cases. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with data scientists, product teams, and the engineering team to stabilize agent performance and stay abreast of the latest advancements in AIOps, DevOps, and AI agent architectures. The ultimate goal is the successful deployment, optimization, and long-term stabilization of AI agents within restricted environments for internal stakeholders, ensuring strict adherence to guardrails.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Refactor and deploy AI agent prototypes in restricted environments, aligning with business and user requirements.
  • Optimize AI agent tools and services for guardrail compliance in deployment environments.
  • Develop highly automated pipelines for the iterative improvement of deployed agent performance.
  • Analyze agent responses and pipeline performance, identifying areas for enhancement and proposing updates to models, tools, pipelines, or prompting techniques.
  • Collaborate with product teams, data engineers, and data scientists to translate AI agent prototypes into effective AI agent pipelines.
  • Document work clearly and concisely for technical and non-technical audiences to facilitate knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in natural language processing (NLP), prompting, AI, and AIOps, and apply these insights to your work.

Strategy:

  • Support the Hive Tech Lead, Product Area Lead, and Engineering in defining the strategy, roadmap, and execution of agent engineering initiatives.
  • Deliver outputs that significantly contribute to the organization's strategic goals.
  • Refactor and deploy AI prototypes with new tools and technologies to meet strategic business requirements.
  • Partner with strategic partners, such as Databricks, to determine optimal solutions for deployment needs.

Business:

  • Champion engineering craftsmanship and focus on delivering tangible business value.
  • Ensure technical delivery and excellence across squads.
  • Contribute to the delivery of complex features, epics, and releases across multiple squads or hives.
  • Serve as a point of escalation for delivery issues impacting various hives and squads.
  • Collaborate with Change Delivery Managers to develop comprehensive delivery and release plans, including technical dependencies.
  • Demonstrate a passion for client experience with a user-first approach.
  • Drive the domain towards future states of banking and technology.
  • Ensure technical consistency of solutions with business architecture, technology architecture, and enterprise technology standards.

Processes:

  • Analyze existing engineering processes, contribute to efficiency improvements, and foster innovation.
  • Identify, mitigate, or remove dependencies across teams to enhance delivery speed and quality.
  • Oversee the preparation and planning of production outputs in alignment with ESDLC standards.

People & Talent:

  • Focus on upskilling engineers in agentic tools to improve daily efficiency.
  • Mentor and train squads on technical skills for proficient development of AI tools, services, and pipelines.

Risk Management:

  • Mitigate delivery risks and issues, ensuring quality, affordability, and scope adherence.

Governance:

  • Support the remediation of tech compliance (ESDLC) requirements throughout the delivery lifecycle, including design reviews, security reviews, code reviews, SAT, and OAT.

Regulatory & Business Conduct:

  • Exhibit exemplary conduct and uphold the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, regulatory, and business conduct.
  • Effectively identify, escalate, mitigate, and resolve risk, conduct, and compliance matters.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Python and relevant libraries/frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps pipelines.
  • Good understanding of LLM architecture and concepts.
  • Experience working with large language models and other AI systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities and adaptability to changing priorities.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with database systems (relational and vector databases) is a plus.
  • Overall 10+ years of engineering experience in building data-driven applications, with 2+ years as a data/AI engineer.
  • Language proficiency: English.
