Lead Full Stack Engineer

Optum seeks a Lead Full Stack Engineer in Gurugram, Haryana (India) for our Optum team at UnitedHealth Group. This role is pivotal to delivering care and aiding technology solutions that improve millions of lives globally.

About the Role:

You will be responsible for leading technical software delivery across multiple teams while ensuring compliance with all company policies, procedures, business directives, work location assignments, schedules, and flexible arrangements. You will partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, QE, Architecture, DevOps/platform, and operations within a high-velocity environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of Java-based services and APIs, ensuring robust integrations and handling service interactions effectively.
• Maintain hands-on experience with modern application technologies including Angular for frontend/backend integration.
• Manage SQL queries on Postgres databases for troubleshooting, validation, and production support.
• Owning Git/GitHub workflows including repositories, branches, pull requests, and delivery pipelines via Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
• Utilize Kafka for event-driven architecture and messaging flows within distributed systems.
• Leverage Splunk and similar observability tools to investigate application issues rapidly.
• Support production incidents by coordinating resolution, executing approved database queries, and managing configuration changes/releases.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills to translate between technical engineering discussions and business requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• B.Tech or equivalent completed graduation with 4+ years of experience in software delivery/technical roles (e.g., Software Engineer, Technical Lead, Scrum Master).
• Solid understanding of AWS cloud environments and application dependencies.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex issues including integrations, databases, builds, deployments, and production incidents.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications in Agile (CSM, PSM), Cloud/DevOps, or Technology domains.
• Experience with healthcare, insurance, financial services, or other regulated industries is a plus.
• Familiarity with Jira and Loop for engineering delivery tooling.
