Lead Frontend Engineer
Full Job Description
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Frontend Engineer to architect the next generation of AI-powered user interfaces. You will own the frontend stack for our Enterprise Technology platform, defining patterns for streaming UIs, real-time agent interactions, and robust state management.
- Architecture & Strategy: Define end-to-end architecture for AI/Non-AI platforms, enforce technology stacks (React 18+/Next.js), component design systems, and state-management strategies across all product surfaces. Architect integration layers between frontend apps and backend services via secure APIs.
- AI & Streaming UI: Build production-grade conversational interfaces with Server-Sent Events/WebSocket streaming for token-by-token AI responses. Implement optimistic UI patterns, agent trace visualization, citation/grounding display, and tool-call transparency using React 18+/Next.js (App Router).
- Developer Experience & Platform Engineering: Design a reusable AI-UI Component Library / Design System consumable by multiple squads. Create 'golden path' templates (starter kits) to enable downstream teams to spin up new products in days. Own the internal Developer Portal for self-service provisioning of AI resources.
Technical Responsibilities
You will lead full-stack features spanning UI, BFF layers, and orchestration services calling LLM backends. Key responsibilities include:
- Integrating React.js/Node.js with LangChain.js / Google ADK for streaming completions.
- Maintaining a versioned component library documented in Storybook featuring AI-specific widgets (chat bubbles, RLHF feedback, prompt inspectors).
- Implementing SSE/WebSocket pipelines and graceful degradation strategies for model latency failures.
- BFF/Backend-for-Frontend development to mediate auth, request shaping, and response streaming using FastAPI or Node.js.
Career Level
This role requires a Senior Engineer (8+ years experience) with expertise in Platform Engineering, eCommerce foundations, and Cloud FinOps optimization. The ideal candidate will translate business needs into technical specifications and significantly impact the Enterprise Architecture through measurable improvements to Developer Experience.
